Gagliostro begynte karrieren sin i motebransjen, og i 1987 var han en av grunnleggerne av ACT UP­bevegelsen. Han bidro også som fotograf på den Oscar­nominerte dokumentarfilmen How To Survive a Plague. Nylig har han undervist på Yale om kunst og aktivisme, og vil ha sin neste utstilling i Paris, 2018. Som regissør er han aktuell med A er Louie som vises på festivalen.

Gagliostro began his career as an art director in the worlds of fashion and beauty. In 1987, he became a founding member of ACT UP. He was a contributing cinematographer for the Oscar nominated documentary, How To Survive a Plague. He has recently lectured at Yale on the subject of Art and Activism and will have his next exhibition in Paris, in 2018.
